Si terrà a Torino, domani e venerdì, il primo Congresso europeo sul transessualismo, organizzato dal C.I.D.Ge.M. dell’ospedale Molinette di Torino (Centro Interdipartimantale per i Disturbi dell’Identità di Genere) e presieduto dal professor Dario Fontana, nell’ambito degli eventi dedicati al 150mo dell’unità d’Italia.
Il C.I.D.Ge.M. delle Molinette di Torino è stato inaugurato nel 2005 e ha già all’attivo 51 interventi di riassegnazione chirurgica del sesso. Il congresso nasce come momento di confronto operativo tra specialisti di tutta Europa che operano in questo settore (endocrinologi, urologi e chirurghi, in rappresentanza di numerosi “gender teams” europei).
Gli esperti si confronteranno in altrettanti tavoli tecnici circa le modalità e gli aspetti dei trattamenti adottati per i soggetti con disturbo dell’identità di genere, nelle varie fasi del loro percorso trasformativo. Una sessione tutta italiana darà voce anche ad aspetti più strettamente correlati alla realtà socio-sanitaria del nostro Paese.
L’Italia è, infatti, all’avanguardia nel trattamento delle persone con disturbo dell’identità di genere che vengono seguite in base agli
standard d’intervento promulgati dall’Osservatorio Italiano sull’Identita’ di Genere (O.N.I.G.) e in accordo con le linee
guida definite dalla consensus tra la Società Italiana di Andrologia e Medicina della Sessualita’ (SIAMS) e l’O.N.I.G.
