E’ infatti l’autorevole canale News della BBC a dare notizia della nascita, su iniziativa dell’Anglia Ruskin University, di un inedito e innovativo corso di laurea in chirurgia estetica, che si propone come l’assoluta avanguardia nel campo della formazione dei professionisti del bisturi, figure che troppo spesso si rivelano ”improvvisate” e non specializzate.
Obiettivo dichiarato del corso, sopperire alla preoccupante mancanza di esperienza maturata direttamente sul campo, dando l’opportunita’ agli studenti di confrontarsi in modo piu’ pratico e coinvolgente con le problematiche di una clinica estetica.
L’urgenza di veri e propri ”dottori” specializzati in chirurgia estetica nasce, in effetti, dagli ultimi allarmi che hanno investito il settore: dallo scandalo dei falsi chirurghi esploso di recente in Germania e riportato da Die Welt) ai sempre piu’ frequenti ”interventi correttivi”, indispensabili per rimediare agli errori delle prime operazioni, fino alla mancanza di sicurezza degli impianti. Segnali che lasciano emergere la necessità di professionisti più esperti.
E, anche in Italia, c’è chi accoglie con entusiasmo la proposta: ”L’introduzione di una formazione specifica per il chirurgo estetico conferma lo stato avanzato della cultura anglosassone in relazione alla cosmetic surgery – commenta Omar Fogliadini, fondatore e managing director de LaClinique – mentre in Italia la chirurgia estetica è effettuata spesso da professionisti senza specializzazione e ‘tuttologi’ non adeguatamente preparati per un’attività quotidiana e continuativa in ambito estetico”.
”Questo nuovo corso di laurea inglese in chirurgia estetica, è un’iniziativa importante poichè darà una specializzazione specifica ad una disciplina molto diffusa ma realizzata spesso in modo non totalmente corretto. Ben venga se riuscira’ ad arrivare anche in Italia”, commenta Stefano Zecchi, docente di Estetica presso l’Universita’ Statale di Milano.
A preoccupare l’Anglia Ruskin University – rivela ancora la BBC – e’, soprattutto, il crescente numero d’inglesi che si recano all’estero, specialmente nell’Europa dell’Est, per andare sotto i ferri.
Il boom di ”turisti-pazienti” è ormai un fenomeno così significativo da costituire un vero e proprio segmento turistico a sè stante, etichettato con il neologismo di ”turismo estetico”, la cui esplosione sta portando al fiorire, addirittura, di agenzie di viaggi beauty che propongono speciali pacchetti all-inclusive, comprendenti viaggio e trattamenti low cost.
Intenzione dell’Ateneo britannico con sede a Cambridge, da sempre culla dell’educazione UK, è scoraggiare i ”pazienti emigranti” attraverso una maggiore esperienza maturata sul campo dai chirurghi plastici.
