Il pronto soccorso in questi ultimi 10 anni è cambiato, secondo gli esperti, offrendo prestazioni sempre piè complesse.
Tuttavia continuano ad aumentare gli accessi e i tempi di attesa prima del ricovero. Secondo i dati presentati da Daniele Coen, del dipartimento di medicina d’urgenza dell’ospedale Niguarda di Milano, gli accessi sono cresciuti dell’8% e le prestazioni del 16% tra il 2007 e 2011”.
E anche se sono diminuiti i ricoveri fatti sul totale degli accessi, scesi dal 19,7% del 2003 al 16,9% del 2007, il tempo di attesa continua a crescere: i codice verdi aspettavano 114 minuti nel 2007 prima di essere visitati, nel 2011 150, i gialli sono passati da 280 a 360 e quelli piu’ urgenti da 195 a 273 minuti
. ”Ormai è diventato normale attendere il ricovero in barella anche per 24, 48, 72 ore – rileva Vittorio Demicheli, direttore del Servizio Sovrazonale dell’Asl I di Alessandria – mentre secondo le raccomandazioni dettate in molte regioni dovrebbe avvenire entro 6 ore dal triage”.
”In media quasi una persona su due si reca almeno una volta all’anno in un Pronto Soccorso – aggiunge Valter Galante, Direttore Generale della Asl di Asti – Nell’86% dei casi i cittadini accedono direttamente al pronto soccorso, e solo nel 12% dei casi vengono accompagnati dal 118”. Nel 2007 i dati nazionali a disposizione indicano un numero di accessi pari a 27.518.347 (con un tasso 364,41 su 1000 persone) e una percentuale di ricoveri del 17,28%.
”Finora molta attenzione è stata dedicata alla funzione d’emergenza – conclude Coen – mentre oggi occorre sviluppare di più l’accettazione che inizia in Pronto Soccorso, immaginarlo come il luogo dell’ospedale in cui iniziano tutti i percorsi interni”.
