Dal 27 al 31 agosto a Milano Congresso mondiale sul Dolore

Oltre 6mila esperti provenienti da 110 Paesi si incontreranno dal 27 al 31 agosto a Milano. Il capoluogo lombardo è, infatti, stato scelto per il 14esimo congresso mondiale sul dolore, organizzato dall’International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP). Obiettivo del consesso è quello di favorire il confronto scientifico per contrastare il dolore: un’affezione che interessa 1 italiano su 4 e ha ripercussioni sul lavoro (con perdita annua di circa 3 milioni di ore) e sui costi della sanità A Milano sono attesi i maggiori esperti internazionali di terapia del dolore tra ricercatori, medici, dentisti, psicologi, infermieri, fisioterapisti.
Si parlerà, tra l’altro, di brain imaging, ma anche del dolore viscerale e del suo collegamento allo stress, della genetica del dolore e di uno dei dolori più diffusi: il mal di testa. Non mancherà spazio per il confronto sul dolore oncologico e sul quello neuropatico. Il Congresso torna in un Paese, l’Italia, che dopo la Norvegia è quello con l’incidenza più alta in Europa di esperienza del dolore.
Nel dettaglio, il paziente tipo è una donna tra i 35 e i 50 anni con mal di testa e dolori diffusi, un reddito familiare tra i 20mila e i 40mila euro annui, sottoposta a molti fattori di stress e con un’istruzione medio-bassa. Gli esperti, infatti, identificano una relazione inversamente proporzionale tra il grado di istruzione e il grado di persistenza del dolore.
