L’obesità maschile rende più difficile il concepimento

Gli uomini che stanno meditando di fare un figlio dovrebbero prima rimettersi in forma. Secondo uno studio dell’Università di Melbourne che verrà presentato al Meeting della Endocrine Society of Australia infatti anche l’eventuale obesità del padre, e non solo quella della madre, influisce sull’esito della gravidanza.
La ricerca ha usato la fertilizzazione in vitro per determinare l’effetto dell’obesità paterna su embrioni di topo. Sono stati fatti nascere sia topolini da padri di peso normale che obesi, ottenuti facendo loro mangiare l’equivalente di una dieta da fast food per dieci settimane.
“Abbiamo trovato che lo sviluppo è ritardato nei feti da padri obesi – spiega Natalie Binder, uno degli autori – inoltre il tasso di impianto degli embrioni cala del 15 per cento. Inoltre il peso dela placenta e lo sviluppo sono significativamente minori nel caso di padri obesi, e questo ha poi delle conseguenze sulla salute della prole”.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod.
