Relazioni sociali durante l’infanzia fondamentali per il benessere

Le relazioni avute durante l’infanzia e l’adolescenza sono cruciali per definire la felicità futura di una persona in età adulta. Se i rapporti infantili e adolescenziali sono stati positivi, il benessere da “grandi” è assicurato.
A sostenerlo, una ricerca della Deakin University e del Children Murdoch Research Institute in Australia pubblicata sul ‘Journal of Happiness Studies’.
Lo studio ha dimostrato che mentre le esperienze delle relazioni giovanili hanno un effetto duraturo sulla qualità della vita, l’excursus accademico e le esperienze professionali giocano un ruolo meno significativo nella produzione di benessere sul lungo periodo.
Per benessere i ricercatori hanno inteso una combinazione di senso di coerenza, capacità di cavarsela in ogni situazione usando strategie positive, socialità, percezione dei propri punti di forza.
L’indagine ha coinvolto 804 persone che hanno partecipato al Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study (DMHDS) in Nuova Zelanda seguite per 32 anni.
I parametri utilizzati sono stati lo svantaggio familiare, le relazioni sociali, lo sviluppo del linguaggio, i risultati scolastici durante l’infanzia e l’adolescenza relazionati al benessere in età adulta. I risultati hanno dimostrato che in particolare un ottimo livello di relazioni sociali influisce sulla qualità della vita da “grandi”.
