Primo intervento chirurgico al Policlinico militare di Roma del Celio con impianto di cellule staminali. E’ stato eseguito questa mattina dall’equipe ortopedica coordinata dal colonnello medico dell’Esercito Marco Liccardo, assistita dall’equipe trasfusionale del colonnello
medico Roberto Rossetti.
Si è trattato di un intervento chirurgico di ricostruzione delle ossa della gamba utilizzando cellule staminali autologhe in associazione al plasma ricco di piastrine (PRP). Le cellule staminali, prelevate dal bacino del paziente, sono state prima isolate e concentrate,
per poi essere impiantate con un intervento chirurgico che garantirà al paziente il recupero delle funzioni iniziali e un beneficio più stabile e rapido rispetto alle vecchie procedure.
