Contro gravidanze estive indesiderate e le possibili difficoltà organizzative che potrebbero sorgere durante i Giochi Olimpici, in Inghilterra si è deciso di puntare sulla ‘prevenzione’ e di offrire gratuitamente, a tutte le donne che lo chiederanno, un kit completo con ‘pillola del giorno dopo’ e preservativi, che verrà recapitato direttamente a casa durante le Olimpiadi.
L’iniziativa è del British Pregnancy Advisory Service (Bpas), organizzazione di volontariato britannica che offre consulenza alle donne su gravidanze indesiderate e aborto. Come riporta il quotidiano inglese ‘The Independent’, il Bpas ha lanciato un servizio grazie al quale le donne londinesi potranno richiedere la pillola del giorno dopo telefonicamente e farsela recapitare gratuitamente a domicilio.
Il nome del kit è esplicativo: ‘Giusto in caso’, e verrà consegnato dopo che le donne avranno avuto un consulto telefonico con le infermiere del servizio. ”Durante i Giochi – spiega Tracey Forsyth del Bpas – ci aspettiamo varie difficoltà ed è possibile che l’accesso veloce ai servizi sanitari divenga problematico, nel caso la contraccezione regolare fallisca. Con il nostro kit si ha un supporto, un piano alternativo in caso di bisogno, in qualsiasi momento”. La pillola del giorno dopo va infatti assunta, dopo un rapporto sessuale non protetto, preferibilmente entro 12 e fino a 72 ore dopo.
”Avere la pillola del giorno dopo già a disposizione – conclude Forsyth – non significa che si sta programmando di prenderla, ma che si sta pensando a come proteggersi nel caso le cose non dovessero andare secondo i piani”.
